Rely on the "People You Know" at Dawson Co-op Credit Union
for great service and competitive dividend rates to help you achieve your savings goals.
Dawson Co-op Credit Union, is a growing, federally insured financial cooperative. Established in 1961 as a member owned non-profit financial institution for the agricultural community, our mission is to be a leader in the community, while being the primary financial institution of our members.
With three locations and assets of $122 million, we are a full service financial institution that offers our members high quality, low cost services. The crucial differences between a credit union and other financial institutions are the ownership, the cost of borrowing money and the cost of services.
Credit Unions are the only democratically controlled financial institutions in the United States. As a member , you and other members elect a volunteer Board of Directors and other committee members to oversee the Credit Union. These dedicated volunteers are fellow members, who serve to determine the long term direction of the Credit Union and ensure that policies are administered and maintained.
Credit Unions are known for educating their members. Resources are available, including money management tools, financial planning, vehicle and home purchase, to help members make informed decisions. Dawson Co-op Credit Union is also a member of the Minnesota Credit Union Network.
Funds are federally insured up to $250,000 by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), a U.S. Government Agency.
JOIN US To qualify for membership you need to reside, worship, attend school or conduct business in Big Stone, Chippewa, Lac Qui Parle, Renville, Swift or Yellow Medicine counties in Minnesota. If a family member is currently a member, you also qualify for membership. A $10.00 membership share is required. Once a member always a member, even if you decide to close your membership you may rejoin.
**Important** To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law (USA Patriot Act) requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify and record information that identifies each person who opens an account. What this means for you: When you open an account, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth and other information such as driver's license or social security card, that will allow us to identify you. Contact Us for more information.
